NYC Brooklyn Power Vinyasa

Power Vinyasa

Teachers: Adrianna Naomi and Kim Marcotte

A breath-driven, trauma-informed, and alignment-focused Power Vinyasa posture practice. Strengthen your ability to connect with your body and embrace your power to sit with sensations. Learn to engage specific muscle groups and body regions while building toward a monthly postural and energetic focus. Class begins with a warm-up followed by a series of standing and balancing postures, arm balances and inversions, hip openers, backbends, and a cool-down in Savasana. For Power Vinyasa & Gong Bath, the class ends with a meditative 5-minute gong bath.

Cathartic Fire

Cathartic Fire is a dynamic whole-body workout rooted in vinyasa yoga, strength training, and mindfulness to help you feel your best. This barefoot, mat-based, and music-driven practice intentionally blends cardio and bodyweight exercises into yoga postures to tone your muscles, cultivate inner resilience, and harness your power to transform your body and mind.

NYC Brooklyn Yoga Contact Improvisation Workshop

Yoga & Contact Improvisation Workshop

Teacher: Nikki Assanti

Connect to your body from an embodied state. This monthly workshop begins with a Power Vinyasa flow, followed by Contact Improvisation. You will warm up with a grounding, introspective flow, roll up your mat, and move throughout the space. Contact Improvisation (C.I.) is a post-modern form of improvised partner dancing. In this monthly workshop, you will explore relationships between yourself and others through touch and physical support. No prior dance experience is required.

Cosmic Flow

Teacher: Lara Gobins

Are you curious about what the stars and planetary alignments mean to you, your body, and your mind? Join Lara Gobins for a Cosmic movement practice rooted in the Universe's intelligence. She will design these monthly classes around the Astrological sign the Sun is in to help you connect deeper to your inner knowing and give you tools to move through the month confidently, with ease, and with joy. You may also learn something while we're at it too! So come prepared to proceed (and maybe sweat) in any way the planets may ask us to; some months may require more movement than others, and others may require more stillness.

Point Of Transition: Somatic Death Cafe

Teacher: Dustin Maxwell

The dying practice cultivates deep compassion, gratitude, courage, acceptance, contentment, and liveliness. You will be guided through relaxation techniques, visualizations, imagination, self-directed movement, and self-designed rituals to courageously confront the reality of mortality and the practice of becoming more comfortable with the discomfort of loss, impermanence, and death. Gently and lovingly practice letting go at different levels. Each practitioner is empowered and encouraged to take good care of themselves and only go as deep as they are ready and willing to go.

Hatha Tantra Yoga

Yoga is the movement from gross to subtle. Hatha and Tantra are techniques to utilize the energies to make that inward journey. We will deepen the connection with ourselves on every level of our being, starting from the physical body and working inward. We will experience traditional yoga postures, breathwork, cleansing practices, visualizations, mantra, and meditation to align ourselves with our innermost selves and safely expand beyond our current scope of awareness and sense of being. This practice is open to all levels.

(Hatha is the use of effort in the body to stimulate and stir the energetic body to balance opposite energies–hot/cold, active/passive, masculine/feminine, effort/ease. Tantra is any technique used to expand awareness, which teaches us that everything is prana (energy) and prana is nothing but Consciousness (Source).)
